Total garbage
The standard depth guards are total garbage. They are difficult to attach to the trimmer. The guard must be placed just so in order to get the correct connection. Beyond that, they're not at all well made. The edge of the guards that goes against your skin has sharp, unfinished plastic protrusions that scrape and cut your face. I've tried removing them but to no avail.
The trimmer itself seems well made. The zero clearance blade definitely trims very closely without nicking. The only observation is that the length adjustment does not move easily to a shorter length simply by pushing down the lock button. It needs two hands.

Hello, David! Thanks for your review. I'm so sorry that the guards are causing so much trouble! They can be a bit finnicky at first, but they're actually really easy to attach once you become used to them. The guards shouldn't be sharp like that though, so it's likely that your guards were just not smoothed down enough at the factory. I did also want to mention that the guards will not attach to the Zero Blade, they are not compatible (just in case that's what's going on here). Regarding the micro adjuster - You do have to press the little button when you move it down from 1.0mm, but there is no need to push it while moving your micro-adjuster up from 1.9mm (this should help, and you shouldn't need to use two hands). It does look like we have already helped you in a separate thread, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@briopg.com if anything else comes up.
